A day in the life of a Digital Communications Coordinator

What does a 'Digital Communications Coordinator' do in a day?

Content creation, curation, audience engagements, proofreading, and Hootsuite scheduling are all part of my daily life as a Digital Communications Coordinator at Boomerang Creative.

My day usually begins by checking our Hootsuite account and checking the profiles of all our clients for any audience engagement overnight, as well as checking the conversation streams. These streams record conversations involving a keyword or multiple keywords chosen by me which are usually my client’s brand names.

Next, I’ll manage our communities by responding to messages and comments on various social media platforms, ensuring that my client’s brands are humanised online by the way they engage with their audiences.

The absolute best part of my job – in my opinion – is the blogging and creative content writing that I do for a number of my clients. I love to immerse myself into a topic of interest, researching competitor’s blogs and ensuring that the articles I write are more engaging, fun, and easy to read than those of their competitors.

The multitude of benefits that blogging can bring to a business is why I’m so passionate about it. A good blog which is kept up to date with fresh content helps a website’s Google Ranking; it helps drive new traffic to your website; it helps to convert that traffic into leads when you include a call-to-action at the end of the blog article; and it helps to establish authority in the businesses’ market. A well written blog shows that you know what you’re talking about!
