It’s now more important than ever to optimise your online presence and there’s about a million digital savvy ways to do it. But, it’s important to understand the 5 key digital media channels that you can apply to your business so you can work to create an optimised experience for your customers.

Multichannel marketing is still the best way of connecting with your customers, reaching them through a variety of touchpoints within the customer journey. But digital marketing supports ‘modern marketing’ and is a great way of reaching a far wider audience than you can through print.

Connecting your potential customers with information that will help them find what they’re looking for and then encourages them to buy. Applying this, and pay-per-click (PPC) where you pay for your ad to be displayed at the top when a keyword/phrase is used, will increase your SEM to draw in more customers.

This ensures your target audience are more likely to see the reviews, playing on word of mouth to encourage sales. Ensuring your business connects with partners that can help your business grow is important; if you can manage long-term arrangements that promote your services through partnerships you can continue to reach new audiences. The type of online partnerships you can focus on are affiliate marketing or aggregators, sponsorships or co-branding.

Using online adverts, like banners or rich media adverts on relevant sites can help your business achieve wider brand awareness. Including click-through links also encourages potential customers to go to a target site or product page where they have the option to purchase.

An extremely important part of digital, social media allows your business to communicate and participate with customers’ online, helping to reach and engage with more people. Messages can reach a lot more people than direct mail can, but also creates your business a humanly/personable touch.

 

Using these 5 digital media channels, or even starting with one and building up, is a great way of increasing your brand awareness. Sometimes, you can have the best product but if people haven’t heard of you or you’re on the second page of Google, you won’t even be considered.
