In August we wrote a blog post about the new Instagram Stories feature, which included a low-down on some of the features and a comparison to Snapchat. If you missed it, you can read that article here.
Fast forward and it's October 2016, and in just two short months Instagram Stories has 100 MILLION daily active users. The success of this feature was expected, as Instagram already had a huge active user base; lots of those were young 'trendy' individuals who are up to date with technology and would be excited to try live updates. This success equates to two-thirds of the daily active user population for Snapchat, so it's safe to say that Snapchat has some fierce competition.
The quick uptake of this feature shows that photo-focused social sharing is proving to be massively popular, and individuals and businesses alike should take note of this. Be where your customers are, share some 'exclusive' behind the scenes content and start a conversation.

Much of the internet is interactive. You can press ‘like’ buttons, ‘share’ buttons, add comments to blogs – but most interactivity is found in the ‘social sphere’. However, businesses still need to include interactivity on their website to excite and engage visitors.
